Cyfac Postural Fit System

February 15, 2007

Fresh from France, MOB is pleased to introduce the Cyfac Postural Fit System. This is a revolutionary new bicycle fitting method devised through years of research into bio-mechanics and cycling. MOB is one of only a select few retailers in this country to have the Cyfac Postural System. The fit process itself is extremely efficient as we ascertain your exact measurements and your bicycle componentry, and plug your information into a comprehensive database. You then have your personalized computer print-out containing your fit information. It is a very simple process, but highly effective!

The cost for the fit is $150. You will need to come to the shop with cycling shorts and a top that exposes your shoulders, so that we can take the measurements that we need. We will also need to know the brands and models of your shoes, pedals and saddle. You will choose from one of four disciplines (road, triathalon, cyclocross or mountain bike). At the end of the fit we will provide you with your detailed dimensions, a schematic for your bicycle set up, your cleat position corrected for you pedals and shoes, as well as blue print for your ideal frame. If you would like the schematics for an of the other disciplines, there is an additional charge of $50 each. Once the measuring and the computation is finished, if you wish, we can fit your bike according to the schematics. The fee for the bike setup is $50 and does not include any parts required, for instance a different stem.

To schedule your CPS fit, please call the shop (336.722.6678) or email us (info@mockorangebikes.com). If you are still not convinced, there is more about the Cyfac Postural System below:

The Cyfac Postural System (CPS) is a methodology and fit machine for harmonizing the relationship between cyclist and bicycle across all cycling discplines and performance levels. The approach draws from multiple recent scientific and mathematical theories and developments and applies these to a greater application of human physiology and ergonomics. The CPS is grounded in the latest scientific principles and medical advances; the theories that support the CPS method feature in more than 2,000 independently published studies/articles detailing performance in endurance sports and cycling in particular. The Cyfac Postural System’s foundation and back-end is highly sophisticated yet the actual application of the CPS method by taking key measurements via the Postural cabin and by treating data via the CPS website is simple, precise, reproducible, and comprehensible.

The CPS optimizes the following criteria:

Comfort: Reduce fatigue – Aid recuperation – Eliminate soreness. How ? Limit muscular, joint, tendon tensions and amplitudes.

Performance: Optimize power transfer throughout entire 360 degree of pedal stroke – Optimize pulmonary and blood oxygen transfer. How? By optimizing the complex relationship between muscular strength, cadence and muscular work.

Health: Prevent joint, tendon, and muscular pathologies. How? By limiting joint amplitudes, by reducing muscle tension, by positioning less traumatically.

Aerodynamics: Limit frontal surface area exposed to the wind without generating any physiological or biomechanical constraints to the above criteria.

The CPS is the only comprehensive fit protocol available in the cycling world—the cyclist-bicycle couple are treated across the full spectrum of physiological characteristics along with the interplay of frame geometry dynamics. Rigorously validated, using the latest advances in the medical/scientific community, and simple to do, the CPS allows for unmatched sophistication, precision, and reproducibility in the fitting of all levels of cyclists. The end result of a CPS study is a position that takes into account optimized breathing, optimized oxygen uptake and oxygen distribution through the body’s cardio-vascular system, proper leg, arm, and body extension for comfort, sustained power generation, prevention of strain, and increased endurance/resistance to fatigue. Ride better, for longer, and injury free.
