Polar Bear Ride for Courage, January 1

December 10, 2008

Hello Friends,

Here is a note we received about the upcoming Polar Bear Metric Century on January 1. This is a great way to start the year off!
————————————————————————————————-
Hi Polar Bears!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Don’t let all of that turkey slow you down…make sure to check out www.trainpolar.org to get the most recent training tips from all of the local bike shops!

Sign up today for the 2009 Ride for Courage at gopolar.org. You can set up a donation page through the site. If you get up to $500 in pledges (that’s ONLY $50 from ten of your friends/family) you will win a FREE 2009 Ride for Courage jersey…and it’s awesome this year!!!

Also remember you can still order a jersey for $70. Please send Anna Cohn an email with your size preference (sizing chart on www.gopolar.org) if you’d like to place your order…time is almost up for jersey orders so don’t wait! Also, please encourage your friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues to come out and ride or financially support Cancer Services this year. Your ride to honor the courage of those facing a cancer diagnosis is so appreciated!

Remember to encourage others that 100% of donations go straight to help people with cancer with medical supplies, paying bills, paying for medications, transportation to treatment, and support groups. That’s the best gift someone with cancer could get this holiday season…hope, support, and love!

Thank you so much for joining us this year in our ride for courage…together we are making a difference in the life of every person who walks through the doors of Cancer Services. Happy training!

  1. Thanks to the Mock Orange gang for supporting this wonderful event. The Look demo bikes are so, so cool.

As for the event, I was able to get out of the sag wagon this year and got on course for the ride. The 19-degree start was a bit chilly, but nearly 100 brave riders provided warmth and motivation. If you are a rider and did not make it out this year, please mark your calendars for New Year’s Day 2010. You’ll get your year off to a great start, support a great cause, and you yourself will be supported by the great Mock Orange staff along with other area bike shops.

Again, thanks to Charles and the Mock Orange Team for your continued support of the Cancer Services and their mission.
