Return of the Tuesday Night Special! March 13

February 28, 2007

Well friends, we have weathered some cold wintery conditions the past few weeks, but there is hope on the horizon. Temperatures are in the sixties this week, and the time change to daylight savings time is coming earlier this spring than it has in recent years. Of course, this means that the “Tuesday Night Special” will resume on Tuesday, March 13.

The Tuesday Night Special is a casual, social, beginner friendly bike ride that leaves from the MOB at 6:15 each Tuesday during daylight savings time. This is a great way to dust off the biking cobwebs and to jog the memory for riding in a group. The ride traverses through the neighborhoods surrounding the shop, usually meandering over to Wake Forest, through the Bethabara area, over the famous cobblestones, eventually winding back to the shop. The total distance is usually between 15-17 miles.

For more experienced riders, this ride is great for recovery. Of course, the “Seven Summits” of the West End area are still here for those who would like to throw some hill repeats into their training. So, come on out Tuesday, March 13 for the first “Tuesday Night Special” of the year!
