Ride for Courage – Polar Bear Metric Century

November 13, 2008

Hello Friends,

The Mock Orange road ride will leave the shop at 10 am this
Saturday. There will be both an A group and a B group. The ride
will head into N. Davidson County.

As hard to believe as it is, it is already time to start thinking
about the annual “Ride for Courage – Polar Bear Metric Century” on New
Year’s Day. This ride benefits Cancer Services and is a great way to get
the new year started off on the right foot. Here is some text from the
official website: “So, why ride on New Year’s Day?
It takes courage to face the reality of a cancer diagnosis. While it
will never match the fortitude required to battle cancer, we invite you
to dig deep, face the frost and hop on your bike as we raise money for
Cancer Services in Winston-Salem”. Cancer Services main mission is to
“to enhance the quality of life for those living with cancer and to
provide the gift of life through education”. Also, check out some great
training tips for this ride at http://www.trainpolar.org/. You can get all the
information on this ride and register online at http://www.gopolar.org/.

The NC Cyclocross Series heads to the sandhills of Southern Pines,
NC this weekend. For more info visit http://www.nccyclocross.com/.

Thanks!
